A generator box built to live outside
The Generator Box gives your portable generator a permanent, weather-tight home on your pad, so you never have to drag it out of the garage in a storm again. It’s formed from heavy .080″ aluminum and finished in a white textured powder coat, so it will never rust.
- Hinged lid: lift it to refuel and reach the controls where the generator sits.
- Fold-out side air windows: louvered side panels open for ventilation and cooling. They must be open whenever the generator runs.
- Lockable: the latch takes a standard padlock (not included).
- 4-point lag-down base: anchor it to concrete or pavers so it stays put.
- White textured powder coat: custom colors are available and quoted separately.

The Generator Box measures 42″ wide × 33″ deep × 30″ tall on the outside. The usable space inside is slightly smaller, so measure your generator’s full length, width and height, including handles, wheels and fuel cap, and leave room around it for airflow. It holds most portable generators up to about 12,000 watts. For example, a Westinghouse iGen5000 (about 24.5″ × 17.5″ × 20″) fits with room to spare, a Predator 9500 inverter (about 31″ × 23.75″ × 28.87″) fits with roughly an inch of clearance on top, and a DuroMax XP12000EH with its wheel kit (about 40″ × 29″ × 27.5″) squeezes in as a very tight fit. Yes. That’s what the fold-out side air windows are for, and they must be open whenever the generator is running. Keep the enclosure outdoors, well away from doors, windows and vents, with the exhaust pointed away from the house. Follow your generator manufacturer’s instructions and keep working carbon monoxide alarms inside your home.
No. Aluminum doesn’t rust the way steel does. The Generator Box is built from .080″ aluminum with a white textured powder coat, so it holds up to rain, snow and road salt year after year. Galvanized steel enclosures rely on their coating, and once it’s scratched or cut the steel underneath can rust.

Yes. The lid latch takes a standard padlock (padlock not included). The base also has four mounting holes, so you can lag it into a concrete pad or pavers. Once it’s locked and bolted down, wind can’t move it and it’s much harder to steal.
Lift the hinged lid. It gives you access to fill the tank where the generator sits. Always shut the generator off and let it cool before refueling.
